I must say Morayfield has definately changed.

Lovely just lovely.

So I give the cops a call (on the 3rd attempt I find a station who answers) and get advised by the nice officer that sadly they have no-one available to go out that night and since I couldn’t give a description that I could come in the next morning to fill out the paperwork for insurance purposes and was advised I could clean up the mess.

So I give the ‘rents a call (it is their place and all and asked who to call to repair the window and they advised they would be over shortly.  They rocked up about 20mins later with some sheet metal and fix it up. Xena (their German Shepherd) also came along and is currently staying at my place for abit. I am sure she is happy since I let her have free reign to run around all day and dig in the garden as she wishes. Something my parents go skitz at her for.

Anyway that is not all, the next morning I rock up to the Caboolture Cop Shop to fill out my report and get the 3rd Degree on why I didn’t call to get a unit down there when it happened (which I did) and why did I touch the evidence (The guy I spoke to said it was ok). She wasn’t happy when I advised that I had spoken to someone and then proceeded to piss me off no end by asking innane questions and treating me like a peice of shit when I didn’t know the answer. Giving me shit because I couldn’t give a description when I had already advised I didn’t have my glasses and I suck when I first wake up was so very trying. Now I remember why I dislike cops.

Question Example:
Police Officer: What was affected?
Me: The laundry window and security grill near the back door. It is on the right side on the ground floor looking from the road.
Police Office: Is that on the east or west side?
Me: I don’t know.
Police Officer: How can you not no? What side of your house does the sun come up on?
Me: I don’t know I wake up at 20:00 AEST every day to go to work and get home at 08:30 AEST every morning.
Police Officer: Well you should know.
Me: I don’t sorry, it isn’t something I pay attention to.
Police Officer: It isn’t so hard, and since you had an attempted break in these are things you should know. How big was the window?
Me: *makes hand movements as I approximate the size* about 1.25m wide and 0.45m high.
Police Officer: So you are not sure on the exact measurements?
Me: Not really, I wasn’t aware I would need exact dimensions and if someone had come last night they would have seen it.
Police Officer: Moving on, how much will it cost to replace?
Me: No idea, for that information you would need to talk to my dad and when I had asked him he advised it would depend on if the glass and screen are all that needs replacing or if the frame also needs to be replaced as it was damaged when they removed the screen. This he won’t know until someone comes out.
Police Officer: So you don’t know?
Me: No.

That an example of part of our conversation………….I just hope no one tries to rob me again. I don’t think I can go through an hour or so of that shit again.

Anyway, I now have a sweet looking window which is all boarded up and trusty dog digging out the weeds in my garden so it is all good.

Currently listening to: Paramore – Misery Business

From the last train on Friday to the last train on Sunday any commuters were forced to use the railbus network between Nambour and Petrie. Anyone that has used the railbus service before knows that it is absolute rubbish but anyway. In an effort to make sure that it went as smoothly as possible I called QR before setting off to see when I should arrive and was informed that I had best arrive a minimum of 30mins early for my bus and that they could also be upto 30mins late. *joy*

So I rock up to the station just before 20:00 AEST (the last train for the night would usually go at 20:38 AEST on a Sunday) and get comfy for the wait. The first train I see arrives 50mins later and is going to Nambour, the driver of which advises me a bus should have been going south like 20mins ago. No exactly briming with confidence now I sit back down and continue waiting. Just after 21:00 AEST another bus arrives, stoked that they finally arrived I start to get on to be advised that the empty bus is actually going to Nambour also…….(lets just say *errr wtf* was going on inside my head) The driver also advises me that multiple buses should have come through as everyone that goes north is supposed to be doing the round trip. (apparently they didn’t all get that friggin memo it appears)

Somewhat pissed off at this point and concerned at my ability to get to work I call up QR to see if they actually have any buses coming south only to be advised, “I don’t know and I am not sure who to check with…..”. Lets just just I was thinking unpleasant things in my mind at this point but kept it polite as I have worked in Call Centres and know how hard it can be. Thankfully while I was finishing up my call with the QR Operator an other QR employee arrived and started taking down the signs advising of the outage. The helpful chap asked where I was going and how long I had be waiting. After the momentary silence when I wait I had been waiting since just before 20:00 AEST and only 2 buses going North had come past, he got on the phone and made sure a bus would be coming to Beerburrum.

Anyway so a almost empty bus arrives around 21:30 AEST, (the right one for once) and I managed to get to Petrie for the second last train of the night (which that held thank god) at 22:00 AEST. 

I finally arrive at Brunswick Street at 23:15 AEST, 45mins early for my shift not 3 hours like usual. I honestly am sorry for people that had to work on the weekend if they had similar issues. So not looking forward to the next time this happens. Maybe I should chuck a sicky….?

18:00 AEST – Wake up
19:00 AEST – Walk to train station
19:35 AEST – Arrive at the station
19:50 AEST – The last train of the night arrives to go to Brunswick Street (technically it arrives at this time but due to QR Trains have issues with coming up to 15mins early and then just buggering off I arrive early.)
21:00 AEST – Train arrives at Brunswick Street
21:05 AEST – I arrive at the Optus Building
00:00 AEST – (Following Day) I begin my shift
07:00 AEST – Shift ends so I wait around until the next train to Beerburrum
08:00 AEST – Catch the train to Beerburrum
09:05 AEST – Train arrives at Beerburrum. Start walking home.
09:40 AEST – Arrive home. Now I have dinner, prepare clothes and make lunch for that night.
12:00 AEST – Sleep time.

That daily plan is so not cool. Thankfully it is only for a few months and I am off to the new house I am renting with my brother in Morayfield. I will be quite a nice change to have grass, a garden and privacy for a change.

With both is primary and backup links down land line, mobile and data services were down across Queensland and some of Northern New South Wales between 07:53 and 12:00 (some services were still being restored as late as 18:00). Optus attempted a reprisal raid but was repulsed by a door that was reportedly locked by Telstra Staff. Optus management is currently holding meetings to discuss how to bypass said door in the future.

This is just another example of how dedicated and capable Telstra is at building and securing the nextgen fibre NBN.
