Module Four – Evaluating the Web

Of the three sources I selected in the previous task, I found RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines to be the best one. This article was actually created in 1995 as a means of instructing the influx of new users on the Internet on the correct protocols for the various services and is the foundation for all netiquette guidelines since. It provides a breakdown of the applicable guidelines for one to one, one to many and information services communication.  It is also broken down further to client and end-user sections. This articles reliability is proven in a number of ways. Firstly it is an RFC and for something to reach that level it needs to be approved by various Internet bodies. Secondly it is heavily referenced by other websites as a source for their data.

In the event I was using this site in an assignment I would use my annotated version for my initial information but, for sharing the site as a hyperlink I would provide external users with the original text.
